Here are some pictures of a 6th June test drive from the canoeing part of the exchange. We made it one day (14 hours) because some participants wanted to see Kimi Räikkönen in a red vehicle on Sunday 7th June.

Canoeing started in the morning in tail-wind & -stream so we progressed fast. Arla & Solja paddlind their canoe, Kalle behind with a kayak. On the main tour we will take a kayak only if we are an odd number of participants.

 Avoiding the Fox Rapids was easy by a wooden rail. Arla, Katri and Solja.

 Then a snow shower gave us some refreshment. Kalle and Solja pushing a canoe and probably Arla pulling it outside the picture...

 

 Yes, it was Arla pulling the thing.

Solja shows the definition of local summer: the difference between summer and winter is that in the summer it is less snowy.

It is usually about the same amout of gear on a day trip and on a month trip.

Kalle, Arla and Solja kayaking & canoeing in the snow fall. When being close to water it is quite the same what the weather is like. You just need water proof clothes and warm underwear to make it enjoyable.

That was all about the pictures. Everything seems ready for our friends to come.

We could not get a proper picture of Katri and Viiru the Dog here is one more picture of Viiru from a past trip.

Viiru seems at this picture that she would like to be somewhere else. Viiru is a nice dog (kleinmünsterländer) and would like to join us. Viiru stays home if somebody from us is allergic to dogs or has dog fobia.
